Out past Cascade Locks in the Columbia River Gorge is a quaint little hotel called the Columbia Gorge Hotel… It is one of the many buildings in Oregon on the National Historical Regsiter and when you walk in, the furniture makes you feel like you’ve walked into an old Victorian house where a little old lady might live…

You would never expect that, amidst the gorgeous scenery and splendid gardens, a monster lurks in the hallowed halls of the hotel… Specifically in the dining room…

It was a Saturday and we decided to take Doug’s mom with us on an adventure to the Columbia Gorge Hotel… I’d eaten there before, but I wanted Doug to experience the breakfast at the hotel… I made reservations for breakfast on Friday and at 8:30 AM the next morning, we were off! A long scenic drive later, we arrived…

The World-Famous Farm Breakfast is truly monstrous in size, but you forgive it because it’s also damned tasty *grin* Once you are seated in the very comfy chairs, the server appears and pours coffee and leaves the carafe for you… It is some quality coffee that they serve there… And from that point on, you are on a food adventure… I don’t know if you have ever had a 5-course breakfast, but if you haven’t, I suggest you bring an appetite…

You can see some pictures of the food experience in my gallery…

In addition to the breakfast, we decided to walk off some of the food by touring the grounds and I managed to get some very nice pictures of the flowers… The hotel also sits at the top of a waterfall named Wah-Gwin-Gwin so I made sure to get a lovely shot of that as well…

You can see more of the pictures from our trip to the Columbia Gorge Hotel in my gallery…

Hope you all enjoy the pictures… I stole the food picture idea from Kaci, but I am sure she doesn’t mind *grin*

*chuckle* I have almost the exact same pic in my gallery, from our trip out there…

Though, I’d love to try the breakfast sometime. Mmmmm, breakfast.

Yow, that is a lot of food! You two would enjoy brunch at Salty’s up here in Seattle – really nice layout there. Looks like you had a lot of fun!
